Why review every year
Medicare Advantage and Part D plans can change premiums, networks and drug lists every January. A plan that fit well this year may cost more next year.
The checklist
1. Read your Annual Notice of Change, mailed by your plan in September.
2. Confirm your doctors and hospitals are still in network.
3. Check every prescription against next year's formulary.
4. Compare premiums, deductibles and the out-of-pocket maximum.
5. Make any change by December 7 so new coverage starts January 1.
