Part B penalty
If you don't sign up for Part B when first eligible and don't have qualifying employer coverage, your premium can rise 10% for each full 12-month period you went without it. In most cases the penalty lasts as long as you have Part B.
Part D penalty
Going 63 days or more without creditable drug coverage after your Initial Enrollment Period can add a permanent penalty to your Part D premium.
Still working at 65?
Coverage from an employer with 20 or more employees may let you delay Part B without penalty. Get written proof of creditable coverage and talk to us before deciding.
